For the second year running, Solitaire Group is proud to sponsor the Maldon Mud Race – a much-loved and world-famous event held in the town the company calls home.
Building on the success of last year, the team is back with a bigger, more advanced setup, including the introduction of a special first for the event – hot shower facilities for participants tackling the famously muddy course.
Building on a standout first year
“Last year we became a sponsor forthe first time and we were originally only meant to install the pre-showers, but they actually ended up being the only showers on the day,” explains Solitaire’s Director, Paul. “Because of that, we’ve taken the opportunity to come back this year and make them bigger and better.”
“It was a really positive experience for us overall – it’s a great community event and a brilliant way to get the Solitaire name out there locally. We had a lot of engagement both on the day and afterwards, so it made sense to build on that momentum this year.”
Bigger set-up, better experience
With first-hand insight into the scale of the event, the Solitaire team has focused on improving both capacity and comfort for 2026.
The pre-cold shower area has been significantly expanded to reduce queue times and improve flow for participants. More notably, the team has designed and installed a specialised heating system to deliver a continuous supply of hot water throughout the day – a major upgrade for those crossing the finish line.
“Last year showed us just how busy and demanding the day can be,” says Paul. “That highlighted the need for a larger setup and a more robust system.”
This year’s setup has been carefully planned to be clearer, more efficient, and more engaging for attendees. From improved layout design to more prominent banners, the aim is to create a professional and noticeable presence within a busy event environment.
“We’ve put more thought into how everything looks from a distance,” Paul adds. “It’s about being more organised and making sure we stand out while still delivering a smooth experience.”
Supported by trusted partners
Delivering an enhanced setup of this scale has been made possible with the support of key industry partners.
Worcester Bosch has supplied three boilers and assisted with the system design, ensuring a reliable and efficient hot water solution.
TEC Supplies has also provided vital logistical support, including one of their larger vans to help transport equipment and keep operations running smoothly on the day.
The sponsorship is very much a whole-company initiative, with the majority of the Solitaire team getting involved.
“Most of the team will be there across the day,” says Paul. “Whether it’s helping with the setup, taking part, or supporting on the stand, it’s something we’re all getting behind.”
In recognition of their efforts, those supporting the event will be given a day off either side of the weekend – a thank you for contributing their time to support the community.
The Maldon Mud Race is on Sunday 26th April at Promenade Park, Maldon. For more information visit maldonmudrace.com
